When i first heard of the Corona-virus the first thing i said was the "ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US", a little bit of a reach right? Well since we are all stuck at home these are my top 10 movies you should see during this pandemic.
10. RESIDENT EVIL FRANCHISE
Action Horror Science Fiction films based loosely on the Capcom survival horror video game series of the same name.
The Franchise follows Alice - a former security specialist and covert operative as she battles the Umbrella Corporation, whose bio-weapon has triggered a Zombie apocalypse.
Filled with violence and cliff-hanger endings "Its an absolute ambitiously mind-blowing wreck" according to The Austin Chronicle. It is also the highest grossing film based on a video game.
9. RABID
This 2019 film directed and co-written by Jen and Slyvia Soska( Soska Sisters) is a remake of the 1977 film of the same name directed by David Cronenberg.
The film follows Rose - an aspiring Fashion designer with low self esteem after she suffers from a disfiguring accident she undergoes an experimental stem-cell treated that leads to (you guessed it) unpleasant, unintended consequence.
It might not be as thrilling as the original and may also lack focus, Its still worth your while.
8. CABIN FEVER
This 2002 Horror Comedy directed by the king of gore and everything unsettling ELI ROTH in his directorial debut.
The story has a very familiar premise -bunch of college students who rent a "cabin in the woods" (get it) and begin to fall victim to a flesh-eating virus.
It pays homage to other low budget horror movies like EVIL DEAD, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and DELIVERANCE. Its an usually potent blend of dread, gore and humor.
7. BIRD BOX
This 2018 Post-Apocalyptic Horror Thriller directed by Susanne Bier is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Josh Malerman.
The film follows a woman, played by the lovely Sandra Bullock as she tries to protect herself from ( as Netflix likes to put it) "a mysterious force that decimates the world population" and also makes them go insane and commit suicide.
Intense, thrilling, it embraces everything the horror genre has ( bad and good) and also stars Sandra Bullock in it, what more could we ask for?
6. ZOMBIE-LAND
Amusing, fast-paced, clever and enchanting.
This 2009 Post-apocalyptic film directed by Ruben Fleischer has everything you expect from a horror comedy. Remarkable performance from Woody Harrelson and Academy award winning Emma Stone, a cameo from Bill Murray (oops spoiler alert) and also rules if there is ever a Zombie Apocalypse.
5. I AM LEGEND
Based on the novel of the same name by Richard Matheson, this captivating and suspenseful 2007 Post-Apocalyptic film follows Neville ( Will Smith) as the last human on Earth after a virus, which originally created to cure cancer wiped out most of mankind.
Thrilling, suspenseful, action-packed and a very emotional ending. This movie is one of the greatest outbreaks there is.
4. THE CRAZIES
A rare occurence where the remake is better than the original, this 2010 science Fiction Horror Film is directed by Breck Eisner and a remake of the 1973 film of the same name by George A. Romero, the father of the zombie genre. Starring Timothy Olymphant, it follows a town that becomes afflicted by a military virus that turns the infected to violent killers.
Tense, spine-chilling, nicely-shot and Fast paced.
3. 28 DAYS LATER
This movie proves that scary and entertaining isnt about big-budgets. It might have some of the usual Zombie tropes but the performances, screenplay and atmosphere is so amazing that it stands out from the crowd.
This 2002 Post-Apocalyptic Horror Film directed by Danny Boyle is the most realistic, surreal, visceral and devastating movie in this list, asking some questions like is it a zombie movie? political allegory? Humanist drama? or all?
2. SHAUN OF THE DEAD
You must be living under a rock if you have never heard of this movie, directed by Edgar Wright and stars the enchanting Simon Pegg, the movie follows directionless Shaun as he tries to survive in a zombie apocalypse with his loved ones.
It cleverly balances scares and witty satire making for a bloody good zombie movie with loads of wit.
1. WORLD WAR Z

Based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Max Brooks. The film the handsome, ever-loving Brad Pitt as Gerry Lane, a former United Nations Investigator who must travel the world to find a way to stop a Zombie Pandemic.
